Classification Labeling & Packaging Regulation (CLP)

The CLP regulation (regulation 1272/2008) is the European version of the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System (GHS). CLP regulation entered into force in January 2009 and describes the new method of classifying and labeling chemicals.

Thanks to this classification, hazards of chemicals are clearly communicated to employees and consumers. The CLP regulation describes how the hazards of chemicals must be communicated on the SDS and on the labels of substances and mixtures.
