On the poultry side, the country is producing 1.3 billion over ready broilers per year and 17 billion table eggs per year, to feed its 83 million inhabitants (who don’t eat pork). 15 % of the broiler meat production and 20 % of the egg production is exported. Turkey is the 12th biggest poultry market in the world.
